Canadian Corporation for Studies in Religion Seeks a Treasurer

February 2026

The Canadian Corporation for Studies in Religion (CCSR) is a consortium of learned societies and institutes including the Canadian Society for the Study of Religion, the Canadian Society of Biblical Studies, the Canadian Society of Patristic Studies, the Canadian Theological Society, the Canadian Association for the Study of Islam and Muslims, the Société québécoise pour l’étude de la religion, the Société canadienne de théologie, and the Association catholique des études bibliques au Canada.

The primary purpose of the CCSR is to support the publication of scholarly research in the field of Religious Studies. Since its inception in 1971, the Corporation has overseen the publication of the journal Studies in Religion / Sciences Religieuses. It also supports the publication of three book series in collaboration with academic publishers: Matière à Pensée (Les Presses de l’Université de Montréal), Studies in Christianity and Judaism, and Advancing Studies in Religion (McGill-Queen’s University Press).

The Corporation is seeking a new treasurer, to replace Dr. Catherine Foisy (UQAM), our current treasurer, for a three-year term, beginning in July 2026. The treasurer should have some financial management experience. Bilingualism (French/English) is ideal but not required. Dr. Foisy will provide mentorship to ensure a smooth transition. As with all other roles on the CCSR executive, this is a non-remunerated voluntary position.

Please send an email expressing your interest with 1-2 sentences outlining your previous experience and relationship to the Corporation to:
