This consortium of 9 learned societies is comprised of scholars who share a commitment to understanding religion both historically and in its present forms. Our scholarship contributes to a deeper understanding that builds capacity to live well together in diverse societies.
In 2021 we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Canadian Corporation for Studies in Religion. There was much to celebrate: our journal Studies in Religion / Sciences religieuses is an important source on scholarly advancement on a wide range of topics; our three book series, Advancing studies in religion, Studies in Christianity and Judaism and Matière à pensée speak to current issues across a range of fields; the number of member societies continues to grow; and we continue to support emerging scholars as they push the boundaries of the study of religion.
