Research Travel Scholarship

CCSR has allocated a maximum amount of $7,500 CAN to be distributed among the successful applicants, according to the decision of the Travel Bursary Committee of the CCSR. Receipients of Research Travel Scholarships and the respective award amounts will be announced at the annual Board meeting in January.

The scholarships are open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada and students on a study permit studying in Canada. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be a member of one of the constituent societies of the CCSR and either:

a) enrolled in a doctoral program and be studying an aspect of religious studies or theology, has successfully completed the comprehensive or major/minor field examinations and their thesis proposal has been approved by their department or doctoral committee.

b) has completed an earned PhD in the field of religious studies or theology and has no academic post, or only a course-by-course sessional contract.

The deadline for applications for the 2021 competition is November 15, 2020. The results of the competition will be announced by February 15th, 2021.
